RFD-LP2730 is a 5-element Log Periodic Antenna optimized for 24.8 MHz to 30.5 MHz, while remaining usable down to the 12-meter band.
With just five elements on a 3.6-meter boom, it delivers an impressive 6.77 dBi free-space gain and a 21–24 dB front-to-back ratio across the entire 5 MHz bandwidth. Unlike narrow-band Yagi antennas—where bandwidth expansion often leads to performance degradation—the log-periodic design is inherently wideband, ensuring consistent performance across the operating range.
The RFD-LP2730 effectively covers the 11-meter CB band, the entire 10-meter band, and also supports the 12-meter band. On the 12-meter band, it maintains acceptable gain and front-to-back ratio, with SWR of 2 or less. At 30.5 MHz, the SWR increases but remains within usable limits.
The antenna weighs 13 kg and is constructed using high-quality materials. Most importantly, the transmission lines are made from 19 mm square aluminum tubing, unlike the lossy transmission-line materials used by many vendors. This robust design ensures no noticeable performance degradation over long-term use.
